North Korea: Pyongyang launches ballistic missile toward the Sea of Japan

South Korea and the US intend to draw up "sensible" preparing situations to manage becoming atomic and rocket dangers from North KoreaYonhap news office reports.

Additionally, the two nations intend to intensify their field exercises next year.

“I specifically emphasize maintaining a stance of instant on-the-spot response for decisive victory in any battle,” South Korean Defense Minister Lee Yong-sup stated, "to ensure that we can give a firm, excellent response to any provocations by North Korea."

In the first half of 2023, 20 joint training programs between Seoul and Washington were announced by the nation's Ministry of Defense.

These programs may be comparable to the Foal Eagle field training exercise, which was officially ended in 2019 as a result of diplomatic efforts regarding North Korea. North Korea fired two missiles and Pyongyang rattled weapons.

The annual Foal Eagle program, which is regarded as one of the largest military exercises ever carried out, has been attended by the armed forces of the United States and South Korea since 1997.

As the North moves forward with its key weapons projects, including the development of long-range solid-fuel missiles and tactical nuclear weapons, the current plan has fueled speculation that the allies are prepared to effectively revive the Foal Eagle exercises.

A new weapon that may be related to a new intercontinental ballistic missile was successfully tested by North Korea.
